Fieldbus Inc. (FI) was established as a Texas corporation in 1993. The initial business functions were focused on administration and management of the HART Communication Foundation and the ISP Foundation, which later became the Fieldbus Foundation. In mid 1996, FI launched new engineering and services business to support industry users in the application of fieldbus technology.

Today, FI is an established and well known solutions provider for fieldbus technology application, product development, standard and custom function blocks, consulting, training and many other products and services. In addition, FI continues to provide administration, management and technology support for the HART Communication Foundation.

As recognized experts in field communication technologies for the process automation industry, FI has been a key participant in the development of fieldbus technology. FI is an active member of the Fieldbus Foundation and participates on the Function Block Team, Interoperability Test Kit (ITK) Review Team and Application Profile Team. We are the editors of the Transducer Block Specification and provide ongoing maintenance support for the Fieldbus Foundation’s Device Description and ITK technology.
